May 4, 2008: On Sunday, May 4, 2008, ResNet is planning a LAN party in the Trimble Forum at 4:00pm. Bring your computer and your favorite games over to Trimble Forum at that time to play games and eat pizza. Suggested games are Unreal Tournament, Team Fortress 2 and Starcraft. ResNet staff will be on hand to offer support and will have a team of expert Starcraft players ready for any challenge! If you want to know more, send us an e-mail at resnet@ups.edu.

April 25, 2008: On Friday, April 25, 2008, Wireless installation is now complete in Jones hall. All campus community members should have full access to wireless service throughout the building. If you have any problems or questions about our wireless service, please visit our wireless page.

March 18, 2008: On Tuesday, March 18, 2008, We have increased the bandwidth on campus from 35 mbps to 45 mbps. The University now has a full DS3(T3) connection at 45 mbps. We are continually looking for new ways to make computing quicker and easier on campus. If you have any questions or suggestions, send us an e-mail at resnet@ups.edu.

December 4, 2007: On Tuesday, December 4, 2007, ResNet has completed the installation of new computers in several of the residence hall computer labs. University, Trimble, and Seward have had replacements installed for the oldest computers and new comptuers have been added to Anderson/Langdon, Schiff, and Regester. If you have any problems or issues with any of the labs, please let us know.

October 1, 2007: On Monday, October 1, 2007, the Network & Server Systems Group completed the installiation of wireless in Trimble Hall. If you experience any problems or have any questions please give us a call at x8585. Check back for more updates in the future.

September 4, 2007: Welcome back students! As a reminder, there are a number of ways to get in contact with us if you have any computer or internet related issues. You can call us at ext. 8585, visit us in the Tech Center in the library, or e-mail us at resnet@ups.edu. We are available from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

April 27, 2007: On Friday, April 27, 2007, We have increased the bandwidth available on campus. Following a short downtime at non-peak hours, The University's internet connection has been upgraded from 24 mbps to 35 mbps. If you have any questions or comments, please let us know by emailing resnet@ups.edu.

April 20, 2007: On Friday, April 20, 2007, the Network & Server Systems Group increased the wireless capabilities on campus. Howarth Hall and McIntyre Hall are completely wireless! If you experience any problems or have any questions please give us a call at x8585. Be sure to keep an eye on this space for new technology developments on campus.

January 22, 2007: On Monday, January 22, 2007, we have moved back to our normal location in the Tech Center. If you have any questions, please call us at x8585.

January 12, 2007: On Friday, January 12, 2007, due to construction in the library ResNet has moved to a new location. We are now located in the Faculty Club/NIWA house. The Faculty Club is next to the communications building and behind the Wheelock Student Center. The address is 3201 N 14th street. As always you can stop in at any time or call us at x8585. We expect to move back to our normal location as soon as possible. Keep checking this page for our current status.

October 26, 2006: On Thursday, October 26, 2006, The university's Technology Planning Group announced an updated plan for upgrading wireless access on campus. This new plan was released with the intention of making all academic buildings fully wireless during the Spring 2007 semester. Residential buildings will follow soon after that. For more information and updated information on this topic, keep an eye on our wireless page.

October 2, 2006: On Monday, October 2, 2006, ResNet, working with the Networking & Server Systems Group, is developing and testing several improvements to the University's Residential Network. These include the installation and upkeep of wireless access points in the Residence Halls, and a system that will allow students to make use of their network connection outside of their own Halls. For more information on these and other developments, keep an eye on the ResNet downloads website.

February 3, 2006: On Friday, February 3, 2006, ResNet uploaded the newest version of Virex for the Apple Mac OS X platform. Virex 7.7 introduces support for the newly released Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) and can be configured to use ePolicy Orchestrator. The installer supports Mac OS 10.2.6 and higher. The download is available from the main page of the ResNet web site or on the ResNet downloads page.

November 10, 2005: On Tuesday, November 8, 2005 Microsoft released a critical security update for Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Server 2003 systems. We ask that you immediately update your Microsoft Windows operating system.
